Founder & Managing Partner

Co-founded a seed stage sector agnostic venture capital initiative approved for nearly 6x co-funding from Singapore National Research Foundation (NRF) under the Technology Incubation Scheme (TIS).

Notable early stage startup investments in the venture incubator included Luxola (, ArtofClick (, Tradegecko (, Zumata ( and GushCloud (

In 2015, Luxola was acquired by Sephora (a Louis Vuitton Company), and GushCloud by Yello Mobile of Korea. Both deals are counted among the top multibagger exits in the Singaporean start-up ecosystem. Later that year, Debneel exited the venture incubator by selling his founding shares to a Los Angeles based VC.

Prior to this, Debneel setup a Fintech company out of Singapore in 2001 that served banks and insurers across East Asia and Australia and exited it about a decade later this garnering most of his proprietary capital. Debneel is a Chartered Accountant with over 25 years of experience in Investment Banking, Technology and start-ups.

In 2016 he founded Decacorn Capital as a true cross border VC investment platform that invests in best in class tech startups from around the world especially USA Israel and Europe. The initiative has made one and half dozen of stage agnostic startup investments across a wide industry segment with two comendable exits in only 20 months. The Singapore government investment arm has recently selected Decacorn as their co-investment partner in a 3:7 with a follow-on of 1:1. This enhances the reach and runway for Decacorn significantly whilst taking the risk out of early stage investments.
